Critique

I had critique today for my sculpture piece.
It went rather well I think.
I had the soundtrack playing but that did not work very well so they did not like that really.
They actually didn't like anyone's soundtracks for those who used them which I found strange, as many people did not use them!!!
One lecturer liked the wires that I have on the feather and another didn't...Everyone has their own assessment of what should happen or at least their own interpretation of the piece.
One liked the writing and the other didn't but there was suggestion to change the writing and play with the typography.
Over all there was a positive reaction to it and I was happy with it. People said that it looked like metal and that was the look that I was going for so that is the main thing I suppose.
I am just glad that that is all over and now I can focus on the drawing portfolio which gets assessed on Thursday!!!
I still have a bit of work to do on that just to finalise a few pieces...So there is no time like the present!!!

Hey man
looked at your feather and I like the statement you made with it. Its is such a natural thing, a feather, and to put a twist on it by making it look synthetic. I like the size of it too, since it also adds to its artifical sense, man always has to make things big...to compensate? What I would say if I may is that perhaps to make an environmental statement, to put the dates important to scientific findings such the date that Darwin and his the Theory of Evolution was published or the day Americans dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, or when it was discovered that pesticideds were killing top predators (DDT was the pesticide I think). Keep up the good work mate.
