Sculpture!!

Well I got my results for the sculpture and inter-media piece that I did.
82.5% which is a high six early 7-ish. The scale for university is up to seven...Seven being the best!! So I suppose that I did not do that badly after all and I was in the top 3 from what I know of.
I can be happy with that....all I have to do now is get good marks for drawing which I am not that confident about as yet.......I will just have to wait and see...it is so hard to tell.

Here is a blast from the past...A photo that I have not seen for a very long time but probably one of, if not, the best photo taken of that era. Definitely one of the most recent  Posted by Hello

Drawing assessment

I had drawing assessment on Thursday.
Interesting to see what everyone else had been doing and an eye opener for me to see what else I should be doing. Not sure how busy everyone has been and how much they have included in their portfolio for the assessment. I thought that I would include as many as I could but without overloading the lecturer with images. I tried to chose the best one's that I had and he was happy with the ones that I put up on display as they showed a varied technique. He did mention that he was concerned that the drawing methods that I had shown to this point in time were static so to say but what I was showing was quite a varied style.
It is hard when you are in class to do the varying styles as some take a little longer and I think that at this point I am on my down hill slide in regards to drawing as a whole. Hopefully I will start hitting the up hill soon and will finally start porducing some good works that will make my next drawing assessment more successful.

Critique

I had critique today for my sculpture piece.
It went rather well I think.
I had the soundtrack playing but that did not work very well so they did not like that really.
They actually didn't like anyone's soundtracks for those who used them which I found strange, as many people did not use them!!!
One lecturer liked the wires that I have on the feather and another didn't...Everyone has their own assessment of what should happen or at least their own interpretation of the piece.
One liked the writing and the other didn't but there was suggestion to change the writing and play with the typography.
Over all there was a positive reaction to it and I was happy with it. People said that it looked like metal and that was the look that I was going for so that is the main thing I suppose.
I am just glad that that is all over and now I can focus on the drawing portfolio which gets assessed on Thursday!!!
I still have a bit of work to do on that just to finalise a few pieces...So there is no time like the present!!!

This is a large feather that I have made from cardboard and painted with a rust proofing paint to give it a metallic look, as I have chosen to represent a man made environment that has been made to look natural. I thought that it was rather ironic and as our theme was politics in place, I will also be writing on the feather key dates - ie 1824 - when Brisbane was first settled by european settlers. Posted by Hello

Here is the piece that I have been working on for my Sculpture and Intermedia class. I will be assessed on this on Monday coming Posted by Hello

Almost finished

It is week 6 and I have assessment due in week 7. It is time for my Sclupture and Intermedia studies to come to a close and I have to present the following sculpture for assessment on Monday. I have almost completed the sculpture apart from painting a few numbers and words on it and it is done. Everyone likes the effect of the paint work too. I am happy with the way that it has turned out. The paint effect worked better than I thought it would which is nice. It is so glossy and has such a good finish to it.
I am also working on my drawing portfolio. I have assessment on that next week also on the Thursday. Good thing is, because the assessment for the Sculpture and Intermedia is on the Monday, we don't have a Tuesday class which will leave me to do more work on the drawing too. I will have more time to work on it and get it all up to scratch. I really do need ot work on it more and forgot that I had the assessment on it......I just have three major pictures ot come up with that will not be too hard as they are apart of the home study but I just have not had the time with the first assignment due, but noe that that is out of the way I can focus on getting the catch up work done so that I pass with flying colours. The good thing I suppose is that I have the Sculpture finished almost and will not have to do anything on that for the rest of the week from tomorrow.
I have to go into uni on Sunday and install it into the room which will mean I will have to drill it onto the wall and it is all done.
I have the rest of the week to focus on drawing and I have plenty of ideas, I just need ot buy some materials to draw on and I am set. I also have to do some photocopying , which I will do tomorrow, and I can start...
We also received our second assignment for the semester on Monday. That has a weighting of 40%. I am going in early on Thursday to have a look at what information is in the library regarding the questions and I will make a decision from there as to which question, out of 17, I will do. I want to get this started asap as it is due at the begining of week 13 and we are almost up to week 7.
Not long....
Well there you have it...more as soon as it comes through...
