Pass

A few weeks ago I had my first exam in 10 years!!!
Today was the day where the results were published.
I received a 6. That equals a b in other terms.
I was pleasantly surprised by this result. I thought that I would be getting a lot less than that. I didn't think I did that well all in all, but I managed to surprise myslef!

This image is of the puppet that i made for the production we are doing for Playmaking. The puppet has to be like an evil carnival child. I show it to my lecturer today and he loved it!! I have also made a straight jacket and aged a wedding dress - staining it with dirt and soy sauce. Finally, the costuming is coming together!!!

These two little figures are going to be apart of my exhibition pieces for the Jewellery and Metalsmith Group of Queensland Exhibition at Merks and Gardner Gallery at Mt Tamborine.

I am hoping to have about 10 of these little suckers, plus some pieces based on Australian Native spider webs. The figures are taking about 45 minutes each to make and will be made out of bronze. They are shielding their eyes from the glistening sun. I will post further images as time goes on and will show you what the final pieces will look like!

I was walking home the other night after uni and saw this piece of art- this huge lantern made with plastic bags - of a Dugong. Beautiful- but a loaded image!

Well. All these photos have come through together and not in the orger that I wanted them too but you gte that!! The metal wasp and nest are a pendant that i have made for assessment. I am ver happy with them! All they need is a bit of a polish and they are done!
The 'hat' is a tiara that i have made for a competition for an exhibition about the Miss Australia competition that finished in 2000.

I have used Disney characters as the contestants. I thought that this was suitable as most young girls look at these characters and eminate them. They want to be a little princess and I think that this can be the source of their desires to be beautiful. Princessed also wear tiaras, therefore it is suitable that they should be on one!
I had a lot of fun making the tiara. It is not for assessment and we had free range on what we made the tiara from. So I have chosen rubber and recycled goods, as well as a few purchased pieces!
It also bought into play my costume skills. It was a nice regression back to the days where I could think of something and create it without having to plan it out extensively in a visual journal!
So now it will be the deciding stage that the tiara will have to go through to see if I get in or not!!
I hope so!
