Well.
I had Acting in Context today and we had to do our scenes in front of our lecturer.
Everyone was a bit nervous, but there was really good work happening.
I was told that I had really good focus, which is nice.
One of our guys in the class is actually doing X-Stacey at the Brisbane Arts Theatre at the moment- so he has an unfair advantage- but I say more power to you!!!!
He is really good too which is a bonus, but I suppose he should be -especially to be performing in public!!
I was really happy with the work that I did but there are always improvements that can be made with the work- so we will work on that and go from there.
Now all I will have to do is practice the monologue. I have the learn the lines on that!!!
I am enjoying the class. I was worried as I have already written- given the disaster of last years class, but these people are really focused and that makes it all a lot better.
They want to be there and that is really good.
I will also say that Lil (the lecturer) is fantastic in the way that she says what she wants to say and it is all straight forward. She said that the performances that we did today were better than the final pieces that she has seen in the last three years of teaching the subject and that we are one of the most focused groups that she has taught!!!
I am really happy with that. If there were two subjects that I would like to do full time, that would be art and drama. But I suppose that I should look at teaching though I am not 100% on that....I see other paths coming out of this degree that I would love to explore!!
At this point I am confused and not sure where I will go from here.
