Oh My God!!
My mother called me the other day and said that my aunty had met a friend of mine that I went to school with. Shannon Moat. I girl that I have not seen for about 6-8 years.
She gave my aunty her number to pass onto me and I called her last week.
We organised to catch up with each other this week and that was last night.
It was good to see her again.
She has not changed much.....Her hair is shorter and that is about it really.
Well, she looks a little older too.
We spoke about what we have been doing since we left school and the last time that we saw each other and all the things that you go on about when you meet someone that you have not seen for a while. It was good fun and we chatted for hours. I am sure that we will catch up again soon.
I finally got my car fixed. It is now roadworthy!!! Mind you, it cost me a grand total of $750 which leaves me with a grand total of $45 to buy a month worth of food and whatever else comes my way!!.......Looks like I will eating noodles again until the car sells or the following pay day!!

Interview.
I had the interview yesterday.
I got there at about 2:30pm and went straight in as there had been a mix up with another interviewee and there expected time for interview.
In other words the interviewee stuffed up and thought they were suppose to be there for one time when they should have been there for another......But you get that.
I thought that the interview would be with a few people but luckily it was just one on one.
We sat down and started off with showing my portfolio and some original works that I have done for the commission I have.
We spoke about where I want to be with my art, why I want to teach and why I want to do the courses that I have applied for. She asked if I just want to be an artist within the art community or something more. I immediately told her that I want to learn more about the "industry" regarding exhibitions and curating. She advised me that the courses I had chosen were the best for doing just that. - YAY!!
I mentioned my trip to China and the influences that has had on me since returning to Australia.
She said that she had also taken a journey to Japan to do the same thing and we sat there chatting about that for most of the time.
There was a score card that she was working by and was asking me questions from. Obviously there was no marking on the paper whilst I was there, shame though!!!
I felt positive about the interview but then she asked me if there was anything that I wanted to ask. BRICK WALL!!!!
I did not know what to say as I did not have any questions. I ended up saying at this current point in time I do not have any as I have been so focused on getting to this stage and getting primed for the interview that nothing comes to mind.
She said that that was fine and if I did just to email or call and they will be glad to help.
One positive was her mention of a task they will be setting all the students when they start, where they will have to go through the phone book and list all the galleries they can in Brisbane and critique them all . See what types of works they have in them. Are they a combination gallery/framing shop, etc.
She told me that it would be wise to do this over the next few weeks. That got me thinking that it could very well be possible that I will get in. However, who then went on to say that the offers don't come out until mid January and that's when I will find out.
I just hope that they wait until then so then I can see what offers come in from all the courses that I have chosen(if they do) and I can make the right decision.
Only time will tell!

YAAAAHHHHOOOOO!!!!!
I finally got my results from the QTAC exam that I had to sit on the 23rd of October.
Overall I received a score of 160 and a percentage of 77%
Verbal I received a score of 162 and a percentage of 81%
Quantative I received a score of 157 and a percentage of 62%
The test results are reported as a scaled score between 100 and 200 and a percentile mark.
The percentile score indicates how well you did compared to other candidates who have sat the test.
I am preety happy with that. Not bad for the first test that I have sat in over 8 years....well one that means anything significant.
All I have now is my interview next week with QUT and I will then find out if my portfolio is accepted by QCA.
That will not happen until mid December. That is the decider for me. If they do not accept the portfolio then i will go with QUT if they offer me a position. If I do have the porfolio accepted then I will have to say no the QUT if they offer me a position. The only thing I suppose I have to worry about is QUT offering the position to me before QCA get in contact with me regarding the portfolio......
There will be too many candidates for them to do that.....I hope.

I got to speak to a very good friend of mine last night. Melanie.
She lives in China at the moment but she is French born and will be going back to France this month, for a month.
She mentioned that she would be back to China for Christmas.
I remember the Christmas we had at her house.
Nice wine, beautiful food....made me home sick.
But now that I am here I feel sad that I will miss Christmas there. Freezing arse cold winter....
But there will be plenty of time for us to meet up again and have a lovely meal together.
Who knows, hopefully that will be in France!!!
That's the plan Stan!!!!

Well thankyou all for you kind words of support after seeing all my photos. Yes, there is some artistic tallent there and yes I am always up for a commission, ot two, or three......
I am back on my old clunker of a computer as my grandmothers has quite literally shat itself again and I have to wait until pay day to get it fixed by the IT people up the road.
I am sure that these machines were invented to make life harder - or just to be a pain in the arse!! Problem being that they are upgrading them all the time and when you buy one, three weeks later it is outdated. I know that is an exaggeration and I shouldn't say that but please, when your computer's at home and at work don't really work that well it can get a little frustraiting.
not to mention that you all know what the heck I am talking about.
I dropped off my portfolio to QCA today. I got lost on the way to the admin building, but that was not entirely my fault. They did not have a sign on the front of the building stating that it was the admin office and on the directory there was nothing stating where the admin was.....maybe that is something that is done on purpose to sort the good from the bad. When all else fails - ask for directions.
So there you have it...
I now play the waiting game and well.....wait.

FINALLY!!!
Well finally!! I have all the photo's up for you all to see now and you can enjoy them.
Let me tell you that is has been one hell of a slog to get to this point. It has cost me a fortune to get my portfolio photos printed and frankly, I am over it!!! Well , not really.
It has just taken me a lot of fart-arsing around to get them all done and I am glad that they are now up for all of you fine people to see.
I have a set date for my interview with QUT - Queensland University of Technology.
That all occurs on the 18th of November at 3pm, so no matter where you are please think good thoughts for me.
It actually feels really good to have reached this far. When I thought about going to uni last year, I did not realise that it would be ssooooo much work to get to here. Entering as a mature age student is a lot more involved than straight out of high school, and it costs a lot less for a high school student too. But I suppose the benefit is that I know what the hell I want to do, unlike some school leavers who will have a bigger hex debt than I when I finish!!!
However, doing a double degree is really going to be a challenge. It will be full on but I really look forward to getting there and doing it!! I need the lifestyle change and for the brain to switch into a higher gear!
I can just imaging what my father would be thinking reading this right now!! hehehe.
Well folks, I hope you enjoy what you see and please, don't be shy with your constructive critiquing.
CONSTRUCTIVE !!!!!!
I hope you all got that!!!
